and tonight was no different.

As the fire would tame down, several of us would venture into the wooded area and emerge with hands full of firewood. There is nothing so relaxing then to have a campfire. As I took my turn, I would be very careful not to reach down and alarm a snake or reach down into poison ivy. Some of the pieces of wood were so big that only about half of the wood would be in the fire with the rest hanging out on the ground waiting to be pushed up closer to the flames. Of course marshmellows were plentiful for roasting over the hot coals anytime someone had a yearning for one.
Patti and Jim arrived at the campsite with hands full of groceries for the evening meal. Jim is making ready the portable grills that will soon be full of hamburg patties sizzling away, sending a delicious aroma into the air. Soon the buns find their way to the patties and onto a plate ready to become devoured by hungry campers. While dinner was cooking Thomas enjoyed first playing hide and seek
with Uncle Chuck and then ball with Patty.

Over at the picnic table Jeannie, Suzie and Patti were chit-chatting while preparing the table to hold preparations for the burger bash.

The cook is double-checking the table top to make room for his
scrumtious burgers. Chuck is playing connect the dots with Thomas.

As everyone arrived they fixed a plate and sat down to enjoy. Jim and Patty introduced a new firepit dessert tonight. Take a banana and cut a slit in the skin. Open it up and place chocolate pieces, peanut butter and marshmellows inside with the banana. Wrap in foil wrap and place in the fire for 2 minutes or on a grill top for about 4 minutes just long enough to melt the inside ingrediants. Yummy to the tummy. Nutritious and filling.

Thank-you Jim and Patti for the dinner tonight.
At night looking down on the city lights below us was just as breath-taking as watching the sunset in the evening.

After everyone visited for awhile everyone broke up and went their way back for bed. Tomorrow morning would begin the count down for the upcoming wedding. Going back down the mountain wasn't quite as bad now that Jeannie was driving us down the mountain. Saturday morning would soon arrive. Pictures to continue..............................

Thanks for posting all these photos, Auntie D. This way, I get to at least look at all the fun I missed. Wish I could have been there.
Thanks for the camping report. Waiting for the rest of the continuing story of the wedding, etc....
These are great Dianne! Thank's for posting all this. I am waiting on the next chapter, like Jeannie.
Love you all!
