August Celebrations

On August 2 Sarah had her 10th birthday celebration.Oh how special our granddaughters are to us.Sarah is the spitting image of her mom from birth and has turned into a lovely young girl. The day was enjoyed with several friends, her family and our family up in Sparta,Michigan. As it grew dark, with bodies splashing lively around in their pool,Annette and I built one large bon fire out back to be very much enjoyed. As Earl climbed out of the pool very water logged he climbed into clothes and pulled his three wheeler out of the pole barn for rides back into the dark, overgrown woods of theirs.Of course whats a dark, eerie ride through the woods without their famous ghost story telling with the flashlight under the chin.Such a fun night was had by all.
Then came August 7th our 38th wedding anniversary. This year we combined Chuck's birthday gift from Annette and Dan,two tickets to a Tiger's game in Detroit, with a Lion's scrimmage the night before and a long overdue trip to Greenfield Village. We bought tickets into the village and then two tickets for the following day into the museum . It was a trip back in time for me as I remember the last time being there, as a young girl part of Pioneer Girls back in
Waterford Community Church. My oh my has it changed in how many years? Lets just say a very long time. Chuck and I had a wonderful weekend away in Detroit with many thanks to Annette and Earl who kept RuthAnn for us. Of course Auntie and Uncle's home is her second home. Its funny how while RuthAnn is jumping the bit to go to Auntie Annette's,Emma,Annette,s youngest is jumping the bit to come to Grandma and Grandpa's. The Lord sure has blessed us all with wonderful children.
