Last night before turning in we called for a wake up call from the operator. This morning I woke up at 5:30am and could not get back to sleep.Who knows maybe that beautiful rooster from the Back Forty Barn was the culprit. All roosters do that cock a doodle doo thing quite loudly in the mornings right?Needless to say I opened up my bible and had my devotions sitting on the bed quietly so as not to wake the snoring husband. My thought was I might be able to fall back asleep for a few more ZZZZZZZZzzsssssssss. It was a no go so I ended up getting ready for our wonderfully exciting day to begin. As Chuck and I walked into the Town Hall to get our trail ride slip we let them know we would not need that wake up call. The Dance Hall was next on our agenda,no not to dance,to have breakfast.Having our stomachs satisfied we walked back to our cabin. As we opened up our door the phone was ringing for our wake up call.OOps someone slipped up and didn't relay the message.

The petting barn rooster was standing here fully satisfied he had did his duty in waking every sleeping body within a few miles. What a beautiful bright colored rooster. He was used later in the Wild Wild West Show on Saturday evening.

Our goat friend was also part of the petting barn and was not only used in the Wild Wild West Show but also in tonights Klein Rodeo. His performance was excellent I might add.He was standing here just waiting for us to walk up and have me take his picture.

What can I say about this rat?He looked pretty cute standing there next to his water bottle.Maybe he was waiting for his food.Misty May sure would have had alittle fun with this guy.Maybe he is Rothbury's School pet rat on summer vacation.

This donkey and pony were having a very secret, quiet talk.Their resting up for their performances coming up.Tune in later for alittle more on the pictures.

The Back Forty Barn

As we took our stroll around to the back of the barn we were being watched by this beauty. She was probably asking in her horse language,What took you so long?It looks like a wrangler is taking out a small party in the background.Chuck and found we really prefer to take our trail rides out from the Ranch. We also found we prefer the comradery of eating over to the Ranch. At the Ranch you eat at the Chuck Wagon and its great to see the wranglers come in for visiting with everyone before they begin their duties of the trail rides.Breakfast in the mornings are nice as we watch the different ones come in happy and preparing to get to know different ones that are taking in trail rides.

This was a beautiful horse standing there watching us walk up.

Lloyd stood here holding the reins of Regal, the horse that was given to me for our ride out from the Back Forty Barn.He is a horse I would take out in the future but will need to check on his trotting.Lloyd lives in Chicago and comes up on the weekends to be one of the Ranch's wranglers. You knew who the wranglers were because they all wore the blue shirts.I had two wranglers I liked,Lloyd and Skip.Lloyd actually was staying in a log cabin just across the road from our log cabin.

Here is Regal who was my given horse and Dutch who was given to Chuck.Dutch was actually the lead wrangler's horse's,Diamond boyfriend.I am not sure that Chuck will ask for Dutch again.

At the Back Forty a horse is saddled up and reined to the fench for those staying their to let their children get up on.A parent can lead them around the corral for free while their there.Corral lessons can be set up for the kids also for a small fee. When Annette,Earl and the girls go up on the 19th,Hannah and Sarah will be able to get up for a 50 minute corral lesson on one of the ranch's saddled horses.Chuck and I talked about it and felt we really wanted to give a small gift to each of the girls for a lesson they will remember as part of their special time.

This is Bonnie and Clyde who are used for pulling the ranch's different wagons and stagecoaches. They are a couple of beautiful, strong looking belgium horses that enjoy relaxing in the Back Forty corral until they are needed.Saturday night they were strapped up to a stage coach that had been rented for a hour tour before the Wild Wild West Show was to take place.Stay tuned for pic of the Klein Rodeo that we went to this particular evening.
