As the story continues.............

After leaving the airport,we traveled to Marilyn's home just a short distance from Dad's.What a beautiful, relaxing place to be during our stay at Dad's.Of course alittle lunch was brought out for the stomach's that craved nourishment. The ducks were calling us soon or should I say Colleen was calling the ducks with her special duck call. The ducks had come to know her call in the day before us arriving.I never could quite copy her call but came close to it.There was always some bread in the refrigerator that could be quickly put in a baggy and taken down to them. The paddle boat was quickly spotted by yours truly but was needed to be cleaned out from the rains and fallen leaves from the days prior.Colleen and I tugged, pulled grunted, almost gave up but here came Chuck slowly to the rescue.Actually by then I think Colleen and I had already succeeded in tipping over the boat to spill out the carnage inside.Alittle wiping and airing out and it was ready for human bodies.Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what fun!! It went out quite often during our stay for the week.RuthAnn was quite often begging for someone to ride her out on the water.Chuck became the person who would stand on the bank gazing out into the water in search for the boat and the persons who occupied it.He was normally there to help bring the boat securely to the bank and fasten the rope tightly to the dock. Dad and RuthAnn stood there trying to decide how to keep this rowdy bunch to bay.Na not really. What a wonderful week would be had. Each evening as the light grew dim and the ducks would lay down for the night we would go in and turn the tv on.RuthAnn would stretch out on the couch for quieting down and wait for us adults to decide it was time to say our goodnights for the evening and go back to great grandpa's.Once getting there,it didn't take long before she would be fast asleep on the couch. The light in the living room and the talk that surrounded her never interferred with her sleep for the night. To be continued...............

Now I see why you didn't take us up on our offer. We don't have the lake, boat or ducks at our home. What a wonderful setting for relaxation.
