Catch That Fish Jeannie
Since when do fish climb up a fish ladder and how do they do it. This time of year our Coho decide to come in from Lake Michigan leisurely floating down our GrandRiver to this point in GrandRapids. At this place those who succeed getting by the many dangling fishing lines with the lures find they cannot go up the wall of water and proceed into the fish ladder. There they spend their time jumping from one water step to another, going up about six flights. They may swim in place for some time jumping into the air allowing the gawking people to watch them in their demise. This fish decided to visit Jeannie for a moment and if she had had a fish net she could very well have caught it.Several fish jumped quite high in their climb only to fall back down the many water steps to level one again to begin their climb all over. Many fish succeeded in giving themselves migranes as they would hit the concrete wall on their jump.I'll bet there we're quite a few who wish some kind soul would throw them an aspirin. We visited the ladder quite regularly while dad was here.
